Paint System Builder Guide
System Information
In order to create a system, we need to enter/choose some important information. Let’s take a look.
Description of Item to Paint
When creating systems, try using descriptions that make sense. For instance, if you are creating a system for a painted wall that has a Satin finish and is 8′ tall, you could describe your system as Satin Walls – 8′. Or, if your system is a a steel column, you could describe it as Steel Column – 6″ X 6″ x 8′.
Substrate/Object Type
This is where you would choose what type of surface that you are painting, eg., Wall, Ceiling, Soffit, Fascia, etc. You may also create some more generic systems such as Linear, Square Foot or Each.
How Many Coats?
When creating systems, it is essential to specify the number of paint coats required. Our system allows for up to four coats, but in most cases, substrates typically require only one, two, or three coats. By default, we have set the number of coats to three, considering that most painted items require a primer and two finish coats.
Daily Worker Rate
Your Daily Worker Rate is the total daily amount before markup. Do not include overhead and profit because you’ll add that information when you get to the System Overhead and System Profit areas. You can include labor taxes, insurance, fees, burden here or add it below in the System Taxes, Insurance area.
